It's a basic motel but the location is good as it's just a few minutes walk to the main high street, it's clean and the staff are friendly
The air conditioner was very noisy so in the end I just turned it off.

An older place, but immaculately clean and attractive. Was very pleased to walk into the room to find it ice cold - so many places these days keep the rooms extremely hot until you check in and change the a.c. settings. The pool was well-kept as well. Would definitely stay there again for the location (right off of light #6) and price!
Wireless internet was extremely sporadic...not sure if there was just an issue going on or if it's usually that way. I ended up giving up and just put the computer away, using my phone instead. No big deal unless you depend on it.

They served Krispie Kreme doughnuts every morning for breakfast. Not fancy but clean and economical. A two block walk to the downtown Gatlinburg shopping area at stop light #6. I would stay there again. Great tip: Park at the trolley center behind the Old Mill and for 50 cents/person get a quick ride to Dollywood or Splash Country and avoid the 8 dollar parking fee. You had to wait very little.

It is family owned and operated. Everybody was friendly and wanted to make sure we were enjoying our visit. They were down home folks...like us.
Advertised as free wifi. Wifi was available in and around the office. Our room did not have more than a poor wifi signal.

The staff was very friendly at Kingwood Inn. The location was great. Easy to get to. The price was affordable. The rooms were clean. The air conditioner worked great. The staff was accomodating.
The breakfast wasn't very good. The donuts were stale and there wasn't alot of milk to share. Some who drank the coffee said they didn't like it. I don't know I didn't drink any.

The location was wonderful. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
New cleaning staff often forgot the change out or restock our linens. The smoke detector was sensitive to the stream from the shower and the shower was sensitive to other guest using water. My wife and I either froze or was scalded. The pressure was the same way.

The motel is very close to the west end of town and very short walk to the main st in Gatlinburg. The owner Mary was the nicest and offered excellent tips on most anything you asked. We took her advice on a couple of things that turned out wonderful. She's kind of like visiting a distant relative. The rooms at the Kingwood Inn are spotless and everything is fresh and clean. The pool while not that big was also very clean. The motel is about 2 & 1/2 blocks from town it backs up to a little hill, there was a bear that came down the hill one day, just at the edge of the trees. The 1st one we saw while in the Smokies was our first day at the motel. The kids were thrilled. This is not top of the line but if you don't want a resort, but just a good friendly place this is it. When I go back the Kingwood Inn is where I will stay.

Kingwood Inn is one of the best places I've ever stayed in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. It's located on the end of a dead end street so there's no traffic passing by, but it's still just a 5 minute walk to the main drag. The rooms are big, the air conditioner is cold, the hot water is hot, the beds and pillows are very comfortable, it has a nice pool and it has a great patio with chairs and grills overlooking the pool. The managers are very nice. And to beat it all, the price was very reasonable. I try to make it to the mountains a couple of times a year (from Florida) and I will definitely be looking up these people again.
